the all new suzie wheat vintage

So I've been quiet on the blogging front - for a good reason!
First im fully embracing internet retail & moving away from supplying boutiques, bricks & mortar etc & so will shortly have featured web shop.
Where you can peruse, get inspired & hopefully purchase. Stocked full of vintage finds all of which i would love to keep all for myself but i get to share with you! You will find vintage clothes & jewellery plus some added gems.

Onto the nxt which is the rebranding of Suzie Wheat......
Rebrand header new colours, new tagline. So exciting!!

Im going to leave you with the draft pics. What do you think?

Moving my ass!

I have been so very lax when it comes to my blog-but I'm back-to let you know.... Just how busy its been, exciting designs. Getting ready for an amazing holiday, Havana Cuba then on to Cuban beach paradise Cayo Largo. What an amazingly beautiful place just how you imagine paradise. White powder sands & emerald green sea's.
Ah blissful memories. As seen in pics & snippets - my hat, a godsend in the tropical heat & a big plus it did look rather stylish when combined with bikini!! Wherelse but a tropical beach could I wear this kinda outfit :)

Beautiful architecture, splendidly crumbling but majestic nestled alongside the graffiti street art.

Must not forget the divine Daquiri's at Hemingways fave haunt (well one of them) great music, fab atmosphere & seriously stylish drinks!!

At this point how was I to know my lover & best friend was gonna get down on one knee & propose! He is a wonderful man & I am such a lucky girl.

Nxt time will do the proposal story and wedding dates and everything else.

Bye for now

tattoo art china cups and the man i love

/span>Ok- so it seems I'm averaging 1 blog a month, a whole month. Just not good enough, but ill go easy on myself as its tough juggling my jewellery design & vintage business, 2 wonderful children and a marvellous man I'm madly in love with, Mark. Who from now shall be referred to as marvellous Mark!!

Tattoo & art go hand in hand, one of me most recent blogs I mentioned how I was searching for inspiration for a new tattoo- my inspiration came from a fantastic artist. ViAlain Viesca, who has done a series of giclee paintings of geisha girls. The artwork I'm using is called Tigers Ink. Amazing take a look on Flickr. Obviously I'm making changes, but I have to say a big thank you to the artist Alain Viesca, a talented guy. So my tattoo will be lower back and off to the right hip, I had chinese lettering done mid back way back 10 yrs ago and this new art will cover this. Work begins sat, nervous but excited, think I've waited long enough and searched for the perfect artwork to be 100% certain!!
Will post the pics once done.

Marvellous Mark gets his sleeve completed same time- isn't that sweet, tattooed together! !!! Please!

art deco movement & architecture-THE CHRYSLER BUILDING, NY

The Chrysler Building, otherwise known as the Sunburst building- an enormous success, a fantastic Art Deco skyscraper. Built in New York, 1930 by William Van Alen.
Architecture that captures the imagination- take a look at the 61st floor and on each 4 corners are gargoyles, eagles, replicas of the 1929 Chrysler bonnet ornaments!! Take a closer look and this is so 'Batman' the heavy leathery movement of the sculpture, the darkness, could the comic hero have been dreamt up from the gargoyles decorating and watching over the Chrysler?? Not sure will have to look it up see which came first, incidental or not......
love how the world around us can fire the imagination.
Art Deco and the art movements and the Ballet and the dance halls and the transport all drew inspiration from each other. art movements such as cubism, constructivism and Art Nouveau, styles adopted & adapted by architects and designers such as Clarice Cliff, Rene Lalique, and A M Cassandre whose most famous work was within the medium of commercial posters.
Work that offered a new style bold and intense colours, geometric shapes stylized images and recurring motifs..

I personally have a massive draw towards art deco jewellery, i buy and sell, not only art deco but other era's, everything vintage. So love these pieces carrying the remnants of being loved, worn and an inkling of the history of the wearer who has gone before...

longing for sun and flowers and dresses

I so want and need to feel the sun on my face while wearing a light and floaty floral dress.....
The runway edits have started my longings...London 25th anniversary, EDGY ELEGANCE, certainly an affair to remember..
So my current faves (although this can change depending on mood)

ERDEM- fantastic florals. Florals always get me going have always worn either in my hair or my prints.
The ERDEM show had all my favourite elements, floral prints, scattered lace contained within the prettiest and ladylike dresses but oh so subtly sexy!

CHRISTOPER KANE- living up to the hype. Dresses sweet but not so saccharine with glimpses of nude chiffon, sheer panels and bust tight contouring. oh so want them

And so to New York- 2 words dazzling & dramatic.
RODARTE- Punky high-drama, the designs rough hand printed fabrics, shredded knits and plaited leather...lots of attitude required.
but the stuff that really caught me on to the show was how it was shown with the models strutting tall with tribal tattoo art 'sleeves' magnificent. Loved it...

on the tattoo art note- this will take me on to my nxt....which design i have done, have deliberated for months, wanna make sure i get the 'perfect picture' japanese floral, cherry blossom, geisha girl..decisions, decisions

Elvis & fake eyelashes

Ok so this is my very first post!!

new year new beginnings and its all about love.....

the girl twirled by full of life in her 50's orange palm print skirt, hugged to her hips, the tight black vest. Hair big and pinned to the side with a popping pink flower. Black heels, fake lashes (another first), and pink lipstick coloured in her mouth-the boy noticed the walk and the skirt.
The location- seaside
The event-Elvis convention
The venue-The Hearbreak Hotel
The first meet- queing for the gents loo's

the boy was introduced by the sister, the girl asked him to come look her up later in the evening she liked the look in his eyes..........

he looked her up they sat on the wall outside, smoking talking laughing & drinking vodka as the Elvis impersonator had the women screaming for more inside.

Stuff I like
art deco posters
japanese textiles
tatto art & vintage jewels
